Paul Hirschbiel Hosts Veterans Roundtable
Discusses Unemployment, Healthcare, and Education
Today, Paul Hirshcbiel hosted a veterans roundtable to discuss issues facing our veterans and military families. At the VFW hall in Norfolk, Paul discussed unemployment, healthcare, and education with veterans and their families.
“Paul understands the issues facing veterans and military families, including the pressing challenges facing those who are returning back from war,” said Nick Reese, who attended the round table. “Along with the serious injuries and disabilities veterans are facing, veteran unemployment is higher than the national average and many veterans remain homeless. We need leaders that will put aside their party labels and get to work, and I know Paul is the leader we need to get it done.”
“So often politicians think answers come from Washington, but the real solutions to our challenges can be found right here in our very own community by simply listening,” said Paul Hirschbiel. “Every time I am with our active duty, veterans, and military families, I am continually encouraged by their bravery, sacrifice and commitment to our country. In order to honor their sacrifices, we have to ensure that our veterans receive the health care, mental health services, and job opportunities they deserve. We have to bring our community together and continue to be vigilant in providing a wide range of support for our military families. Down here in Hampton Roads, we don’t see supporting veterans and our military as a partisan issue, and neither should Washington. It is time we reflect the spirit of our military and work together to solve these problems.”
